My book club hated that I didn't connect with the assigned memoir
In my experience, our group often picks emotional memoirs for deep talks. I read the latest one but thought it was too dramatic and not easy to relate to. When I shared this, everyone was shocked and said the book was honest. I feel we should pick books that let us have different opinions, not just sad stories. Take this with a grain of salt, but that's my view.
