PSA: My book club leader swore I'd hate 'Moby-Dick' if I read it fast, so I took 6 weeks on it and she was dead wrong
Back at the January meeting in Austin, our group leader Dana told me the whale book only works if you speed through it, so I tried that and quit around chapter 30. She then said slow down, one chapter a night, and I did that for 6 weeks. By the end I was hooked, underlining whole pages about the whiteness of the whale. Now I want to know, has anyone else had a club leader give advice that backfired like this?
