Oh man, I did the exact same thing with a "only 2 left in stock!" thing on some cheap desk lamp. Kept hitting refresh to check and the number never changed, it was just always 2. I even sat there thinking I was being smart by waiting a minute, then panicked anyway and hit buy. The lamp buzzes when it's on and I never use it. Those fake timers should honestly be against the law.
