My book club spent 45 minutes fighting about one paragraph on page 212, and I counted
So last Tuesday at our meeting in my friend Dana's garage, we were supposed to talk about the whole book but somehow got stuck on one single paragraph on page 212 for 45 minutes. I actually timed it on my phone because it was getting so silly. Four of us wanted to read it as the character lying, and two of us said she was being honest for the first time in the whole novel. Dana got so mad she read the paragraph out loud three times in a row, which obviously did not settle anything. We never even made it to the last chapter. Does your group ever get stuck on one page like that, or do you have some rule to keep things moving?
