My 2007 Pro 600 did the same thing last December 23rd. Right in the middle of whipping up a double batch of royal icing for gingerbread houses. The sacrificial gear is designed to break on purpose so it doesn't destroy the motor, that's why it's cheap plastic. I keep a spare gear and a hex key in my baking drawer now.
