Rural route in Kentucky taught me to never trust a blurry photo

A rusty anvil that's a doorstop? Sounds like you got the right reading but the wrong eyesight, blurry pics are usually hiding something smaller, not bigger. That's a $70 lesson in checking dimensions before you drive.

Three day weekend turned into a full series rewatch of an old sitcom

Oh man, that hit me right in the feels. I did the same thing with a show from 2005 during a power outage like 3 years ago. The jokes land totally different now that I'm older, some stuff I laughed at back then just feels kinda cringey now, but the dumb ones still get me every time. The 22 episode thing is wild too, I forgot how much filler and side plots they crammed in, which honestly makes it feel cozier somehow. Maybe it's just me but I think the slower pace actually makes you care about the characters more than the 8 episode sprint stuff.

PSA: stop obsessing over tent weight if you car camp

Preach, my 8 pound tent is still going strong after 10 years of car camping.

I finally found why my briskets were drying out, it was the rest method

Still drying mine out, just slower. Some of us are born to chew.

Forty five minutes to fix a stuck film advance, five months to find out why

Honestly the real lesson here is that sometimes the simplest little part can cause the biggest headache. I've had a shutter stick for weeks and it was just a dried drop of grease on the wrong gear. People always blame the big stuff first, but it's usually the tiny dumb thing you'd never think to check.
