Our club almost split over reading a book the author hated, so we tried a blind vote on a napkin
Two months ago in our Aurora book club, we picked a bestseller that half of us loved and the other half called trash. The argument got so bad that one member, Dana, threatened to quit over text at 11pm. So we tried something new: everyone wrote their pick on a scrap of paper, folded it, and we tossed them into a cereal bowl. We didn't know who nominated what until after we finished the book. The last meeting had zero fights and we actually talked about the story instead of the person who chose it. Has any other club tried blind picks, and did it backfire once the reveal happened?
