inShoutout to the guy at the coffee shop asking if you could ask a question about asking questions
I saw a post last week where someone spent three paragraphs asking how to ask for a ride to the airport. Just text your friend "hey, can I get a ride on Tuesday?" This stuff isn't brain surgery. Most people are happy to help if you just say what you need.

inVent: Glue down versus floating a vinyl plank job in a basement
Well, my one attempt at a floating floor taught me to stick to glue. @the_logan is right about the haunted house sounds, mine developed a spooky creek right under the couch. The extra day of work feels pretty good when you're not listening to random clicks for the next decade. That slight bounce near the wall would slowly drive me crazy.

inI finally got a clean weld on that old anvil stand by using a piece of copper pipe as a backer.
Right? It's not like they're trying to disarm a bomb. What's the worst that could happen, a wobbly table? Just give it a good shove and call it a day.

inMy old boss swore by thinning shellac with denatured alcohol, but I just had a project in Phoenix turn sticky.
Just watch the plastic seals in your gear.

inMy Angelfire site visitor counter hit 10,000 and I'm kind of shocked
Been there, and it can really mess with your analytics. I set up a simple filter in my site's dashboard to block known bot traffic. It won't catch everything, but it helps clean up the data so you can see real visitor behavior. You have to check it every so often and add new bad IP addresses as they pop up. It's a bit of upkeep, but worth it for accurate numbers.
