inGot so tired of my endpapers bubbling up no matter how slow I dried them...
Well, lucky you, I guess the rest of us are just overcomplicating things.

inPicked a random thrift store journal over the $40 artisan one
July 1985 is the date on a journal I picked up from a Salvation Army in Portland for a dollar. It was some guy's diary about his summer working at a fish cannery in Alaska. @juliam40 is right, the blank pages in a fancy journal can't compete with the real stuff. I spent a whole evening reading about his run-in with a bear and how he lost his favorite hat. Those thrift store finds are always the best because you get a story you never expected.

inWasted $400 on a rain barrel system that nearly flooded my basement
Did you check the gasket before cranking it down? Snowmobile carbs taught me that one.

inSpent $40 on a basic burr grinder and it made way more difference than I expected
Calm down, it's just coffee not a spiritual awakening.

inTalking to a zine veteran at a show made me rethink my whole approach to binding
Different door for different folks. A good pamphlet has its own place, straight up. Sometimes you just need something cheap and fast to get the words out, that old school binding is cool but not everyone's got the time or the hands for it.
