Anchor chains pulled right out of the wall at Valley View Mall
Went to Valley View Mall in La Crosse last weekend. Hit the old food court and noticed one of those big anchor store sign chains was just dangling. Pulled on it a little and the whole thing came crashing down. Drywall anchors had completely rusted through. Anyone else find dangerous structural stuff at these places?

...and this is exactly why I don't trust those old mall signs anymore. Rusted drywall anchors are a recipe for disaster, especially in a place kids run around. Valley View has been neglected for years honestly.

Totally agree with @sullivan.elliot that Valley View has been falling apart for years. I walked past that main entrance sign last month and saw a giant crack running down the side, probably from water getting in behind it. Those old metal frames just trap moisture and rust from the inside out, so even if the outside looks okay, the bolts are probably holding on by a thread. Have you ever noticed how the floor tiles near the food court are all buckled and stained from leaks?
