Had to decide between a band saw and a scimitar for breaking down whole lambs...

Went with the scimitar for the extra control on the curved cuts, but it took me a full week to get the hang of the weight. Anyone have a strong preference for one over the other?

My buddy Mike in Texas bought a scimitar for his ranch last fall. He spent three whole days just practicing on old cardboard boxes to get the swing right. Said the balance felt totally wrong until he figured out to choke up on the handle a bit. Now he won't touch his band saw for anything but straight cuts.
