I finally got the hang of setting up internal cable routing on carbon frames

Honestly @shah.matthew the vacuum trick feels like extra steps to me. I just tape the new cable to the old one and pull it through, works every time. Magnets are cool though.

Tried to fix a rusty bore with vinegar and ended up with a rifle that smells like pickles.

My uncle's old Marlin 336 had that same pickle smell for two seasons after he cleaned the barrel. I used to think it meant he did a bad job, but after reading what kelly_walker92 said about it becoming part of the story, I get it now. That rifle shot fine and the smell just made it his. It's like a weird badge that shows you actually put in the work to save the gun instead of letting it rot.

Had to pick between a $1200 used Fluke meter or a $400 new generic one for the shop. Went with the generic and it's been fine for 6 months, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Maybe @jade_young88, but that low-level worry can keep you sharp sometimes.

Had to choose between a full removal or a risky crown reduction on a big maple

I used to think removal was easier, but saving a good tree changed my mind.

Just hit 500 unique passwords in my manager and it's a bit much

Is 500 really that crazy though? I have like 300 and it's mostly junk accounts for one time coupons or signing up to read a news article. It's just the way the internet works now, every site wants you to make an account. As long as your manager is organized and your master password is strong, who cares about the number?
