Tried the Park Tool cable cutter on housing and it made a mess
Picked up the Park Tool CN-10 cutter for $45 thinking it'd give me clean cuts on Shimano brake housing. First try and the housing frayed like crazy, had to file it down for 10 minutes to get it clean. What's the trick for getting these things to cut straight without crushing the liner?

That housing frayed like crazy" is exactly what happened to me too. It's like how cheap screwdrivers strip screws, you spend more money and still get a bad result because the tool just wasn't designed right in the first place.
