One comment about pacing made me cut my intro from 500 words to 50

Someone in the comments said my setup was longer than the payoff and I got defensive at first, but then I reread my own post from 3 months ago and yeah, they were right. Now I drop straight into the conflict and save the backstory for a follow-up comment, has anyone else gone through this weird ego bruise thing?

...and honestly the ego bruise turned into a full body bruise when I checked my old post and saw the first 8 paragraphs were basically me explaining my coffee order. Cut it down to two sentences now. It hurts less but my intro muscle memory still tries to write a novel every time I open a draft. Only took 3 months of painful feedback to learn that less is more.
