My sourdough starter tried to escape the jar last night

My luna moth escape from 2021 still haunts me. I had it in a mesh enclosure with a zipper and somehow that little jerk figured out how to wiggle through the smallest gap near the seam. Spent like 3 hours searching the whole apartment, found it clinging to a curtain two days later looking totally smug.

I tried going fully paperless for grading and totally regretted it

oh man this is so relatable. my friend @wesley_hart tried the same thing with an app for tracking her freelance hours and it backfired when the app glitched and she lost a whole week of billing data. had to go back to her handwritten log and she never looked back. paper just works better for that kind of stuff somehow.

Spent $40 on a silicone baking mat and it saved my cookies from a total disaster

Oh totally, I've heard silicone mats can even help with even heat distribution (which is probably why your bottom didn't burn). @betty126 is right about the dishwasher thing too, that's what sold me.

Warning: don't trust a 20 year old floor jack with a 4 ton truck

So, @abby836, do you actually think a person's VALUE drops just because they're older or their tools get a little worn? Because I've seen old timers fix stuff with a rusty hammer and some baling wire while younger guys with shiny Snap-On stuff stand around scratching their heads. For real, my grandpa's chisel is older than me and it's NEVER slipped and taken a toe off unlike that harbor freight junk I bought last spring.

The time I spent 3 years packing a backpack all wrong on trains in Europe

Rolling clothes changed my whole travel game too after years of stuffing everything in like a maniac.
