Because I've seen old timers fix stuff with a rusty hammer and some baling wire while younger guys with shiny Snap-On stuff stand around scratching their heads. For real, my grandpa's chisel is older than me and it's NEVER slipped and taken a toe off unlike that harbor freight junk I bought last spring.
