inOkay so I was super suspicious of those LED light therapy masks for home use
Sounds like a total placebo effect to me.

inOverheard a guy at the coffee shop say you should never turn down work, but I think that's how you burn out.
Glad you turned that down. Taking every single job is a fast track to hating what you do. You have to guard your time and energy, or you'll have nothing left for the good projects. I only say yes to work that pays fairly or teaches me something I actually want to learn. That "momentum" he's talking about just becomes a grind of bad clients and low pay. Setting a clear line is how you stay sane and keep the quality of your work high.

inJust found a 2005 version of my college's homepage on the Wayback Machine
Those old sites had a weird charm. You could just click forever and find random stuff. It was a different kind of internet.

inMy Pentax K1000 shutter froze solid at the worst time
Classic cameras have a sixth sense for the worst possible moment to quit. Mine gave up right as a bear walked into frame at Yellowstone.

inPeople keep calling any old glass 'depression glass' at the flea market
Ugh, that drives me nuts too. It really does make it harder for everyone starting out. I got burned a few times before I learned to check for seams and the quality of the glass. Real old glass often has tiny bubbles and the mold lines feel different. You just have to study the real patterns until you know them by sight.
