A trip to the Griffith Observatory made me rethink the whole 'dark sky' thing.

I was there last month, and the view of the city lights from the hill was honestly more striking than the stars. Everyone talks about getting away from light pollution, but the orange glow over LA made for a better photo than the washed-out sky above it. My shot of the downtown skyline with a long exposure turned out way more interesting than my attempts at the Milky Way. It felt like the human-made light was the real subject, not just something to avoid. Has anyone else found a cityscape to be a more compelling astro photo than the deep sky?

I keep seeing people link to blogs that shut down years ago

I've been trying to find good, active blogs about old typewriters for a few months now. At least three times, I've clicked a link from a forum or a listicle, only to find the last post was from 2018. One blog, 'The Daily Clack,' looked perfect, but it's been a ghost town for six years. It matters because it makes our community lists useless and wastes everyone's time. We should check the date of the last post before we share a link. How do you all check if a blog is still alive before you post it here?
