PSA: I went back to my old apartment complex in Tempe and the rent is insane now

Honestly, I was in the area last Tuesday and saw the sign for a one-bedroom unit. It was listed at $2,100 a month. Tbh, I paid $950 for the same layout back in 2018. It just made me think how impossible it feels to save for a down payment when rent eats everything. Has anyone else seen a jump like that in their old neighborhood?

Rent going down is pretty rare from what I've seen, so @dianaellis got lucky there. Most places just keep going up, especially in a college town like Tempe. It really does make saving up feel impossible.

Wow, that's wild. My old place actually went down a bit since I moved.

It's like the universe has a rule that your old place has to get worse right after you leave.
