I actually see it the opposite way. Those messy sketches are the only honest ones, the ones made before you knew better or cared what anyone thought. The horse-bear is way more memorable than some perfect drawing you'd forget by next week.

Ditched my thermometer for milk steaming last year after burning my hand one too many times, and somehow my lattes got better. My theory is my hands finally learned what my eyes kept second-guessing. It takes a while to trust the feel, but once you do, it's kind of liberating, even if I still fumble the grinder every other morning.

Always figured hand-tight was fine, but one creaky carbon post later and I get it now. Torque wrench on anything fragile just makes the ride quieter in my head, even if the feel is subtle.
