Back in college I had this world map on my wall that made Greenland look almost as big as South America. I never questioned it. Last year I saw a comparison that puts Greenland over Africa and it's like a postage stamp. How did I go 10 years without realizing that thing was so warped? Visited a coffee shop in Austin last month called Buzzed & Bytes. The owner had a single sticky note under the register with all his login info for the POS system, email, and even his banking. He said password managers are too complicated for a small shop and he's been fine for 7 years. I get his point about simplicity but that one note could ruin his whole business if someone grabs a photo of it. Anybody else run into small business owners who refuse to use anything but paper?
I was on a job site in Tacoma last week and this guy hands me a chisel that couldn't cut butter. He said he's been using a grinder on it for 5 years.
