Old timer told me to stop backrolling compound like wallpaper

Frank's been doing this since before I was born so I'd listen. It's like that thing where people overcomplicate simple stuff because they think more effort equals better results.

Why I still go with hardwired sensors over wireless for most houses

And the thing is, most people don't think about how wireless sensors can flake out after a year or two. The battery life claims are always way off from what you actually get in the real world. I've had too many callbacks on wireless systems where a sensor just stopped talking to the panel for no reason. Hardwired might be more work upfront but at least I'm not chasing phantom issues every few months. That Austin job you did sounds clean. A 3200 square foot ranch with hardwired contacts is going to be rock solid for decades. The homeowner made the right call skipping the battery problems.

Just realized I was overcomplicating my headband glue-ups

Huh, Faith, what exactly are you getting at with "a binder in Bellingham" that's so specific? Reese, you say it's no big deal, but the way Faith phrased it makes me think there's a particular story or situation behind it. Was there some kind of weird incident involving an orange three ring binder at a local coffee shop or a meeting I haven't heard about?

PSA: My neighbor in Phoenix told me to water my lawn at noon during a heatwave... killed 60% of the grass in 3 days.

yeah i used to be one of those people who thought watering in the middle of the day was fine because the sun would just dry it up anyway. boy was i wrong. turns out when you water at noon in 110 degree heat, the water basically just evaporates before it even gets to the roots, and the droplets act like little magnifying glasses that burn the grass even worse. my neighbor in Tucson told me the same thing and i killed half my lawn in two days before i figured it out. now i only water at like 530 in the morning or after 9 pm when the sun is gone. sucks that you had to learn the hard way but at least now you know for next time.
