inThe Geocities pizza shrine that still orders by fax, somehow
Man, I gotta say I see this backwards. People treat stuff like that like it's a museum piece, but that fax line is probably the most honest thing on the internet. All that site is doing is staying small enough to actually work. No algorithms, no engagement bait, just a guy who likes pizza and a shop that answers the phone. Most big sites are just ghost towns with auto-reply bots, so a real human answering in two days is light years ahead of that. The only reason it seems weird is because we got used to everything being fake and fast. Sounds to me like this guy found the cheat code.

inParking garage trick that saved me 40 minutes near the courthouse
I read somewhere that the courthouse folks quietly extended the first hour rate on that garage through the summer, so you lucked out on timing. Also, heads up, that app discount only works if you pay before you pull into a spot, otherwise it charges you the full machine price.

inWet socks on day 3 in Glacier taught me the liner system
Wet socks on day 3" hit me right in the feels, lol. I remember my first backpacking trip where I thought I could just bring one pair of smartwools and call it good. By day two they were stiff enough to stand up on their own and I was doing that gross squish sound with every step. The liner system is legit, but me being me, I bought the fancy liners and then still managed to pack them in the bottom of my bag under everything else. So I basically hiked in wet socks anyway, just with the added bonus of knowing I had dry ones I was too lazy to dig out. Definitely a lesson in prep, or maybe just a lesson in me being a disaster.
