Six years of floating slabs before a guy in Reno asked why I finish before bleed water clears
Turns out I was pushing the trowel too early on hot days and blaming the mix for every blister. Anybody else out there still fighting that habit, or did someone have to tell you too?
I used to swear the mix was the problem every time. Blamed the plant, blamed the driver, blamed the weather. Then a finisher told me the same thing that guy in Reno told you, that I was getting on it way too soon when it was hot out. Took me a while to admit he was right because I'd been doing it that way for years. Now I wait and watch the bleed water instead of going by the clock, and the blisters mostly went away. Funny how fast you change your mind once someone points out the real cause.
