I finally dug up my old GeoCities page from 1997

Remember those guestbooks where people left messages? My first site had one filled with inside jokes that make zero sense now. It's like finding a time capsule written in a lost language.

Honestly, I thought the 'double cleanse' thing was just a fancy trend for a while

That's a solid point, @xena_williams. Makes you wonder what we're all brushing off right now that we'll kick ourselves for later. Is there a specific trend you've seen flip from silly to sensible? I've noticed a lot of the old ways of doing things are coming back around, just with a new coat of paint.

A customer offered me cash to skip the paint booth and just rattle can his quarter panel

Remember that old zoning fight in my town over a backyard shed. The neighbor called it a storage unit, the city called it an unpermitted structure. It took six months and a lawyer just to decide if a ten by twelve building was okay. That line gets drawn with a ruler in some offices and a grease pencil in others.

Vent: Had a gate post lean on me in a muddy backyard in Springfield

Honestly, you're overcomplicating it. Just let the concrete do its job. A lean right after you set it doesn't mean the final post will be crooked. Once that mix fully cures in a day or two, it's locked in place for good. All that frantic bracing and shoving rocks in is just making more work for yourself.

I found a notebook in a box of old books and the drawings inside were way more interesting than the writing

Tbh, that notebook sounds way cooler than the class notes. The good stuff is always hidden in the margins or the middle pages. You basically found someone's secret creative life they hid from their teacher.
