inTorn between clipper brands last month, went with Wahl instead of Oster
Picked up a Wahl Magic Clip about six months ago after my old clipper finally gave out (it was a cheap one, honestly). The blade glides through thick, coarse hair without snagging, which is huge for me since I do a lot of fades on guys with heavy beards too. My buddy swears by Oster for longevity, but I've had zero issues with the Wahl's motor bogging down even after back-to-back cuts. If you're doing mostly fine hair like you said, you made the right call - the Magic Clip's a champ for blending.

inRant: That old timer who said 'never trust a 10-year-old governor cable' was dead right
The car dropped three feet" - man, that made my stomach drop just reading it. I've been around elevators enough to know that three feet is no joke, that's a full-on freefall. Your safety gear saved your bacon, but I can only imagine the sound that made when it caught. I had a similar thing happen with a door closer once, not as bad, but it's one of those moments where time slows down and you just think "oh no" over and over. You're lucky you're here to tell the story, seriously.

inSpent $80 on a fancy book club hardcover and the discussion notes were just printed from Wikipedia
Bought a "limited edition" thinking it would hold value. Sold it on eBay for $12. Turns out everybody prints the same fluff these days.

inPoked around a retired 737 in the Mojave boneyard last month saw something wild
Cloth zip ties in the desert heat for 20 years?" That just blows my mind right there. I would have bet money those things would turn to dust, but I guess the old school stuff really was built different. Makes you wonder what other hardwearing secrets are hiding in those gutted planes.

inI think the Klein coax stripper is way overrated compared to the Paladin one
Honestly, the spring thing is a dealbreaker for me. Klein's are fine until they aren't, and then you're just stuck with a paperweight.
