Spent $80 on a special edition book club pick and it was a total waste

Wait, didn't anyone else notice that "The Midnight Library" author is Matt Haig, not a woman? Not trying to be that guy, but I had to double check when I read this. @king.river you probably know this already since you mentioned collector's editions being flimsy with the extras. Anyway, the real problem is these publishers know people will pay extra for anything labeled "special." I fell for a set of leather bound classics once that had these tiny, unreadable fonts and thin paper that ripped if you looked at it wrong. Felt like a sucker too.

My tech buddy laughed at me for keeping a bookmark from 2004 about drying sneakers in a microwave

Nuking your shoes is a fire hazard waiting to happen. Just buy new ones.

Found out my granddad's old post hole digger is worth more than my whole truck

Wait, you actually SOLD it? No way. I remember when you first posted that thing, it looked like it had been sitting in a damp corner for like 10 years with bird nests on it. I figured you'd end up just scrapping it for parts or something. Who even bought it? Some collector with more money than sense? I'm honestly shocked, that thing was rough.

My film back popped open in the middle of a roll at the Grand Canyon

Ngl, I had a similar thing happen with a beat up Mamiya C330 at a punk show. The back plate just gave out during some strobe lights and I lost half a roll of Ilford HP5. Developed it anyway and those frames looked like some demented disco ghost photos. The band actually asked to use one for their album art. Sometimes the camera wants to be an artist too, I guess.

Tried the 'aggressive' job hunt vs the 'casual' approach. Night and day.

Isn't that just cause people can smell when you're trying too hard?
