Showerthought: the trick to matching old wallpaper isn't the pattern, it's photographing it under the homeowner's own lamp
I do wallpaper repair on old houses around Charleston and spent two hours once trying to match a faded 1980s floral, only to nail it when I snapped a photo under the actual living room lamp instead of my shop light. The light made the beige read gray in my shop, so every sample I picked was wrong for a week straight. Now I always shoot the wall and the sample side by side on the homeowner's couch. Anybody else match color to the room's lighting instead of daylight?
