Warning: My local library's computer lab still has the old Netscape browser installed

Feel the same way about old tech hiding in plain sight. My dentist's office still has a beige CRT monitor running their appointment software. It creates this weird time warp feeling in an otherwise modern room.

TIL the exact temperature your butter should be for perfect cookies

My dad taught me to set the water heater to 120 degrees, not the default 140. It stops scalds and saves a ton on the gas bill. @paige_wells44 is right about the secret settings. It's like the exact gap you need under a door for air flow, or the perfect mix of dawn and vinegar for cleaning soap scum. The right number is always hiding in plain sight.

Just read that the Liebherr LTM 11200 can lift 1,200 metric tons and I'm still trying to picture it.

Big machines always look impressive in videos. The counterweight is just basic physics for something that tall. Seen similar setups on regular cranes for years.

People keep booking the 'cheapest' flight and missing the real cost

So @perez.elliot, what's your actual breaking point for fees? Like, does a $29 basic economy ticket still feel worth it when they charge $40 to pick any seat and $65 for a carry-on?

Just realized I own over 100 board games and I've never played half of them

Ugh, that's the real hobby right there. Buying the dream of having free time with friends. My shelf looks the same, full of games I was sure we'd love. That Kickstarter hype makes you feel like you're gonna miss out on the next big thing. Now it's just a stack of cardboard guilt. Felix is right, it's just stuff, but man does it stare at you.
