Just realized I own over 100 board games and I've never played half of them
I was organizing my shelves in the basement and counted exactly 127 boxes. I think the tipping point was that Kickstarter for 'Frosthaven' a few years back, which I still haven't opened. It hit me that collecting them became a bigger hobby than actually playing them. Anyone else have a shelf of shame that's bigger than they'd like to admit?

That Frosthaven box is basically a $100 decorative brick. You bought the idea of playing more than the actual game. It's just stuff, not a moral failing.

Ugh, that's the real hobby right there. Buying the dream of having free time with friends. My shelf looks the same, full of games I was sure we'd love. That Kickstarter hype makes you feel like you're gonna miss out on the next big thing. Now it's just a stack of cardboard guilt. Felix is right, it's just stuff, but man does it stare at you.
