I spent 3 hours cutting tile with a manual snap cutter for a backsplash before I finally bought a $90 wet saw.

That wet saw purchase is a game changer for sure. What kind of tile were you trying to cut with the snap cutter that made it such a nightmare? I've seen people fight with those things on anything but the most basic straight lines.

Appreciation post: My phone's battery life doubled after I stopped a dumb habit

Wait, don't modern phones already have built-in protection to stop charging at 100% to prevent damage? I thought the bigger issue was the heat from being plugged in for so long, like @betty126's friend's laptop. Maybe your old charger was just getting too hot and hurting the battery that way. What kind of charger were you using before?

A neighbor watched me finish their driveway and said it looked great

My edges look like I let a drunk raccoon do them. I tried a magnesium float once and still ended up with a wavy line that would make a topographer dizzy. Some of us have the touch, and some of us have two left hands (guess which one I got).

Rant: My crane turned into a squirrel highway on a recycling plant job

Last summer on a solar farm install, we had rabbits living under the panels. I used to see animals as pests that just messed up our schedule. But watching them move around our gear made me realize they belong there too. Now I plan for quick stops like your squirrel break, and it saves time vs. chasing them off later. That crane delay probably kept them from chewing wires or causing worse issues.

TIL skipping joist hangers is a fast track to wobbly decks.

My neighbor tried that on his deck build... spent all summer fixing the sag before he finally put them in right. That wobble gets scary fast.
