TIL using a cheap laser level for ceiling joists saved me three hours

Tbh I just read an article saying blue chalk shows up way better than red on dark textured ceilings. Might be worth a shot if you're already using the chalk line trick.

Swapped out my sketchbook for a digital tablet and it felt weird at first...

Could be overthinking it a bit though. You probably just needed to adjust your grip or pressure, not relearn how to draw. Most people adapt to a new tool way faster than they give themselves credit for.

I tried going fully paperless for grading and totally regretted it

I tried going fully paperless with my freelancing invoices and scheduling last year using Trello and a calendar app. Three weeks in, I was back to keeping a simple spiral notebook on my desk for daily tasks and hourly logging. The worst part was when my tablet crashed right before a client meeting (luckily I had printed notes in my bag, that saved me). I realized I remember details way better when I physically write them down, like a payment due date or a color hex code I'm tweaking. Big quarterly reports I still do in spreadsheets, but for the day to day grind, nothing beats paper for me.

PSA: I used to think old sites were just broken, but a comment on my last post changed that

That "first" spam stuff hits different when you're the one hunting through a dead site like a digital archaeologist with no credentials.

Just realized half the guys on site don't know how to read a dredge pump curve

Match the pump size to the flow rate and you're golden.
