PSA: Factory repair times never match my actual work

My buddy had an old truck where the book time for a simple bolt was triple the usual because of rust. We just laughed and billed by the hour instead.

I finally learned to slow down for detailed beard work

That part about "taking that extra breath made all the difference" really stuck with me. I notice this same thing in so many regular tasks, like when I try to speed through cleaning and just end up spreading the mess around worse. Rushing feels like it saves time, but it usually creates more work from fixing slips. It's a weird trap where being fast makes you slow because you have to redo things. Your timer method is a perfect example of how a small pause can actually speed up the whole job by getting it right first. Learning to slow down is honestly a game changer for getting stuff done without the stress.

Landing a client across the globe felt like a huge step

Honestly, I always thought working with someone so far away would be a total headache with the time difference. I figured you had to be stuck on calls at crazy hours or something. But seeing your post made it click for me. It's not about matching hours, it's about getting the work done on your own time and just handing it off. That's actually really freeing. How do you set up your schedule to make it smooth?

Tried to get into educational podcasts and downloaded a total dud

Did you ever buy a beginner's guide that was just full of inside jokes? I picked up a gardening book last year that kept using terms without explaining them. Spent a whole Saturday confused about what "hardening off" meant before I tossed it. Now I flip through a few pages in the store before buying anything like that.
