inCan we talk about how everyone suddenly hates filler episodes?
The G-8 arc in One Piece was a filler arc I liked better than some canon stuff. @eric_johnson, do you think filler gets judged too harshly just because it's not in the manga?

inAppreciation post: The old trick of mailing a box home from Tokyo still works
Mailing a box home for two months feels like a weird game of surprise shopping with your past self. You'll have completely forgotten what you bought by the time it shows up. I did something similar from Thailand once, and the box arrived looking like it had been on its own vacation. Honestly, for $35, it's a pretty good deal to avoid airline baggage fees, which are basically a tax on poor planning.

inPeople keep saying the web was all text in 1995, but I remember graphics
You mentioned the Space Jam page, and my buddy still talks about waiting an hour for it to load on his parents' computer. He says the graphics were there, just in tiny, pixelated chunks you had to watch build line by line. That was the real early web experience, not just blank pages.

inMy boss pointed out my incident reports were just data dumps, not analysis
I used to just list facts in my logs too. Running the numbers through a simple script first shows me the weird clusters and timing gaps. It forces me to ask questions about those patterns before I even start writing. Makes the whole report way more useful.

inA friend told me my old GeoCities backup was a mess of broken links and it made me start saving full site copies instead of just bookmarks.
A bookmark is just a promise" is such a true line. I read an article calling this "digital decay," where stuff just vanishes. Your method with HTTrack is the only real way to fight it.
