inI thought the hype around 'Odd Taxi' was just more internet noise, but I was wrong.
My friend had to beg me for weeks to try Bojack Horseman, and now it's my favorite show ever.

inTIL my emergency fund finally hit 5k after 2 years of putting in whatever was left over each week.
Congrats on hitting that goal, it really does change how you sleep at night. Was the 5k number based on your truck repair, or did you have other bills in mind too when you picked it?

inMy sourdough starter straight up died after a week in my cold Denver kitchen
Denver kitchens in winter are no joke for sourdough. That gray paint smell is the worst, total heartbreak after a week of care. King.river is right about the top of the fridge, that spot saved my starter last year. I also used my microwave as a proofing box, just by keeping a big mug of boiling water in there with the jar. The trapped steam keeps it warm and humid for hours. You just have to remember not to turn it on.

inPSA: I started using a cheap kitchen scale for my morning coffee and it fixed my brew.
My old French press was a total crapshoot before I got a scale, I mean I was just guessing with a scoop from the protein powder tub. It's wild how a cheap kitchen gadget can make your expensive beans actually taste right. I went through a whole bag of something really nice thinking it was just a bad roast before I figured it out. That sour, weak taste is exactly what I was getting, it's such a relief to fix it.

inShoutout to the guy at the Portland comic con who saved my signed copy of The Amazing Spider-Man #300
Oh man, that's the best kind of con story. That metallic gold is gonna look so slick on that book, too. It's wild how a tiny bit of kindness from a stranger can totally save the day and become part of your memory of the whole thing. Those little moments are what make the community feel real.
