Had to pick between a chemical peel and a high frequency facial for a client with stubborn congestion

Honestly, I would have gone with high frequency every time. A peel can be so harsh and that purging phase is rough on the client. High frequency is way gentler, it kills the bacteria causing the congestion right there, and you can do it more often without wrecking the skin barrier. I've seen it clear out those deep blackheads over a few sessions with zero downtime. Peels just feel like a chemical sledgehammer when you have a more precise tool available.

Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he charges $150 an hour for 'strategy' and nothing else

My last project had a 20% line item just for planning before any code was written. @the_sarah, is that "thinking out loud" money, or is there real, separate value in a solid plan that stops you from wasting time later?

Just moved for work and my crane license has extra hoops to jump through

My cousin is a nurse in Florida and had to retake a bunch of tests when she moved to Oregon. It was a pain, but she said their earthquake prep standards were totally different. Sometimes the local rules exist because the local risks are different, you know? A crane in a coastal area might have different wind rules than one in a valley. It's annoying, but it's not always about control.

Warning: I just read a 2004 forum thread where a guy tried to host a server on a toaster

Honestly that kind of chaos feels like a lost art now. Everything online has to be optimized or turned into content, you know? Like people used to just do dumb stuff to see if it worked, and the fun was in the trying. Now you'd have to make a ten part TikTok series about the toaster server with brand deals. Maybe it's just me but the weird little failures made the internet feel more human.

Appreciation post: My uncle's rant about crop circles in 2021 made me see this whole thing differently

That Lincoln visit must have been intense. What do you think your uncle was really afraid of, if it wasn't about the circles?
