Just changed my mind about the 'lost cat' flyer staple after seeing the same one for 8 months

Ugh, that's so sad but also kind of amazing dedication. There's a missing dog poster on a stop sign near my old apartment that's been there for at least three years. The plastic sleeve is completely yellow and cracked, and the photo is just a sun-bleached blob now. I saw the owner out there once, just taping a fresh piece of paper over the whole thing without even taking the old one down. It makes my heart hurt a little every time I pass it.

I read a report that said carpet installers have one of the highest rates of knee problems in any trade.

Man, that report is dead on. My uncle was a carpet guy for thirty years and he had to get both knees replaced.

My neighbor insisted I put a quarter on my car antenna to stop birds from pooping on it.

Ha, my uncle swore by hanging old CDs in his fruit trees!

People keep saying to ask broad questions here, but I compared that to asking something super specific about my broken garage door opener last week.

Exactly! It's like giving someone a map instead of just saying "I'm lost." When you list the model and the error code, you're basically handing people the tools to solve the puzzle. They can skip all the basic guesswork and get right to the good stuff. Why waste everyone's time with twenty questions when you can just say what's wrong? I see it all the time, vague posts just die because nobody knows where to even start.

Hot take: Picking up pruning tricks from a trip south messed with my crew's routine

Wow, that's a wild story. So did her arborists ever come back to see the results? I'm curious if they actually learned from it or just wrote it off as a fluke. It seems like a lot of experts get stuck on the rules they were taught and miss the bigger picture when the climate itself is changing.
