Overheard a guy at the coffee shop say he charges $150 an hour for 'strategy' and nothing else

It made me think about how I price my own project work. Do you all have a clear line between doing the work and just planning it?

My last project had a 20% line item just for planning before any code was written. @the_sarah, is that "thinking out loud" money, or is there real, separate value in a solid plan that stops you from wasting time later?
