My car breaking down on 95 actually saved me $1,200
I was driving from Richmond to DC last March when my 2008 Honda started sputtering near Fredericksburg. Instead of calling a tow truck straight to a dealership, I had my buddy Mike come pick me up and we limped it to his garage. Turns out it was just a clogged fuel filter that cost $28 to fix, not the $1,200 transmission rebuild the dealer quoted me last year. Anyone else had a breakdown that turned into a win?
