inI read that some competition teams go through over 200 pounds of wood for a single brisket cook. Found that in an old forum thread from a guy in Kansas City.
That "200 pounds for a single brisket" number sounds about right. I saw a team at a local comp go through three whole bags of hickory splits for one cook. They were running a big offset and kept a raging fire going for almost 20 hours straight. It's a whole different world from backyard smoking.

inCan we talk about the weird drone activity over our town lately?
My cousin's midnight drone show last year looked exactly like that, vera482, just with more tree collisions.

inThe web went from weird to slick and I kind of hate it.

inFound a 1996 site that still works because the guy used a simple table layout
Remember when a hack was just a clever trick to make something work, not some scary data breach. That old web felt like a shared workshop where we all tinkered with the same broken tools. You could view source on any page and actually understand how they put it together. The fixes were ugly but they got the job done, and everyone learned from them. It built a whole mindset of just making things work with what you had.

inAppreciation post: The $12 moisture meter my boss gave me is a game changer
Good call on the moisture meter. I keep a cheap infrared thermometer in my bag, catches hot electrical connections before they start a fire.
