Tried using that 'fast set' joint compound on a whole house job and it cost me a full day

That 20 minute mud has a different water ratio than regular compound. I bet you mixed it like standard all-purpose and that made it set up way faster. The bag instructions are tiny but they matter for chemical drywall mud.

I ran a 12-inch suction dredge against an 8-inch cutterhead for a month on the same stretch of river

Classic case of the boss in the office not believing the guy with muddy boots lol. Sounds like your boss in Mobile was too busy looking at spec sheets to understand the actual river bottom. That hard clay just laughs at a suction line, it needs to get chewed up. Bet he changed his tune when you showed him the numbers. Sometimes the fancy, expensive gear is just the wrong tool for the job.

Baking bread camping? This gear won me over.

Kim Ellis, that reminds me of my epic pancake fail.

Showerthought: My fridge's AI mistook a toddler drawing for a grocery list

Yikes, that's the real problem with these smart gadgets (they just don't get context). Like, a person sees kid art, but the AI only sees shapes and makes a wild guess. Makes you wonder what else it's misreading on your fridge door.

Warning: Skipping water breaks during back-to-back appointments led to shaky hands (a hydration reminder for us all)

So you're telling me the secret to steady hands is just drinking water? I tried that and still spilled coffee all over my keyboard. Maybe I need a bigger bottle or something. Or maybe it's just an excuse to take more breaks between clients.
