Picked a philodendron over a monstera for my first big houseplant

Totally feel you on that, it's like picking the low maintenance option and then wondering if you missed out on the flashier one. I have a philodendron in my dim bathroom and it's thriving, so I think you made the right call honestly.

Spent $600 on a Festool Domino and honestly I kind of regret it

Are you actually building stuff that needs that level of precision though? I mean yeah if youre making furniture for a living maybe it matters but for weekend projects a $50 router and some jigs do the job fine. People act like the Domino is some kind of magic wand that makes joints perfect every time but Ive seen plenty of wobbly tables made with expensive tools. Half the time the glue and screws are holding it together anyway not the fancy joiner. Feels like half the hype is just people trying to justify dropping way too much cash on a tool they barely use. Youre not alone in thinking it was a waste.

Overheard a guy at Cabella's say 'these new tents don't breathe' and it made me miss my old canvas

Wait, have you ever had a tent just straight up fill with water from your own breath? I took a cheap coleman out one night in the Poconos and woke up soaked like I left the rainfly off. Canvas is heavy but it's like sleeping in an old coat, keeps the wet off your face but you gotta dry it out for a week after. I ended up getting a used Springbar from some guy on Craigslist last summer, it's still a beast to haul but I haven't had that wet sock feeling once. The pole setup is a pain though, feels like putting together a jungle gym with sticks.

Spent $80 on a 'like new' Argus C3 from eBay and got a brick with a lens

Bet someone could flip an untouched Argus shutter for a fortune, @angela_knight.

I finally chose between a GeoCities guestbook and a simple contact form

brian303 wait you had a spinning @ symbol on your band page? I never even thought about adding one of those to my old band site. That thing must have been hypnotic to look at back in the day. I can see why it felt wrong to remove it though, like you were taking away a piece of internet history from that time. Those old GeoCities style decorations really grew on you after a while.
