Appreciation post: Sketching out my projects first changed everything...

I forced myself to draw simple plans before any build... it cuts down on mistakes, but some friends say it kills the fun of just diving in. Where do you stand on planning vs. winging it?

Learned a neat way to check brake pad wear from a regular at the shop

He showed me how to use a coin to measure pad depth quickly. Now I teach it to customers so they can do basic checks at home.

Rant: Rural ghost signs get no love on here

I keep seeing posts about old ads in big cities, but the ones out in the country are way more interesting. They show how businesses used to reach folks in small towns, and the paint fades in unique ways. So why does everyone ignore them when they share pics?
