inChanged my mind about taping wire bundles in tight spaces
Hook and loop is a total mess waiting to happen. The adhesive backing fails with heat over time, then you've got a loose strap floating in the panel. Zip ties, when you use the right tool and don't over-tighten, give you a permanent, clean hold. That little click from the tension tool is the sound of a job done right, not a future service call.

inPSA: A call box fire in a Phoenix high-rise made me rethink our whole wiring approach.
Some guys say we should always upsize by one gauge for safety." That's how you blow the budget on copper for no real gain. If the prints are correct and the load calc is right, the listed wire size is safe. Why add cost and make terminations harder if the engineering is sound?

inMy kimchi jar bubbled over at 3 AM and I learned something wild about sauerkraut
Ever had a batch of sauerkraut turn out way too salty? I learned the hard way that you can actually rinse it in a colander with cold water if it's too strong, then just pat it dry. It saves the whole jar. That bacteria fact is wild, it really shows how active that stuff is. I always use a bigger jar than I think I need now, or put a plate under it, to catch any overflow.

inFound a weird metal box in a ditch near the old mill road
Yeah @elliots49 is totally right, that's a great way to snap the tip right off. Did that once on a paint can, never again.

inSpilled milk on the counter and it looked like a ghost
Honestly the "black surface" idea always seemed wrong to me, like it would just get too hot. But I tried it last summer and it actually worked way better than my old setup. The contrast made everything so much easier to see and it just performed better. Totally changed how I do things now.
