Vent: My neighbor's cat versus my motion sensor light

Absolutely not, telling them just starts needless drama. Sometimes it's better to let small things go instead of turning your street into a war zone. You have to live next to these people, so why make it tense over every little issue? Keeping the peace is worth more than being right all the time. Some battles just aren't worth fighting.

Warning about spray foam insulation in our cold winters

That line about "the premium price for learning" really hits home. It feels like half of home ownership is paying for the lesson after the fact, because you trusted the expert in front of you. I see this everywhere now, from quick kitchen remodels to car repairs, where the easy, fast fix ignores the long term problem it will create. We get sold on the immediate benefit and miss the bigger picture.

Tried a different sand mix for a small bronze pour and it totally backfired

That bronze owl must have looked like it went through a bad teen movie phase! I once added just a tablespoon too much bentonite and my mold basically turned into a sauna, ruining a simple ingot. I've found even a small change means letting it dry for a full 24 hours longer than usual, just to be safe.

My curling iron blew a fuse in the middle of a wedding party last Saturday. Had to finish three updos with a flat iron and a prayer.

Wait you did your whole look with just a flat iron? How did you even get volume at the roots without a curling wand?

A client in 2018 told me my extractions were too rough and it stuck with me.

Oh wow, that's such a good point! I read somewhere that if you have to push that hard, the pore isn't ready to give it up yet. Makes total sense to just back off and try a different way.
