Walking through the local mall in Bakersfield, I saw a kid wearing a full Spider-Man costume just to get groceries.
It made me think about how the idea of 'secret identities' has totally flipped from something you hide to something you proudly show off in public now.
Honestly, that tracks. Saw a guy at the hardware store last month in a full Batman cowl, just buying light bulbs. The whole secret identity thing is pretty much dead. Itās less about hiding who you are and more about telling everyone exactly who you want to be that day. Kind of nice, in a way. That kid probably made a dozen people smile on their boring grocery run.
