Changed my mind about taping wire bundles in tight spaces

I always used zip ties for everything, but they can pinch cables in a crowded panel. A guy on a job in Portland showed me using a small piece of hook and loop strap instead. It's faster to adjust and doesn't crush the conductors. What's your go-to for keeping things neat in a small can?

Hook and loop is a total mess waiting to happen. The adhesive backing fails with heat over time, then you've got a loose strap floating in the panel. Zip ties, when you use the right tool and don't over-tighten, give you a permanent, clean hold. That little click from the tension tool is the sound of a job done right, not a future service call.

Totally agree! I had hook and loop fail on me last summer, it was a nightmare. Switched to zip ties with the proper tool and never looked back.
