Hit 50 copies sold of my zine and it threw me off

oh man, that feeling when something sells way faster than you expected is wild. i totally get that "did i mess up the price or is it just a good topic" thing. maybe it's just me but when i put out my zine about fishing on the old river docks i priced it at $3 and sold out at a show in a day. it's a good problem to have but it also makes you second guess everything. idk, sounds like you found a real audience for that train story and that's pretty cool.

Just realized I've been cutting my tack strips wrong for years

Agree with @perez.elliot that it's just stubborn old habits we gotta break sometimes.

Bleach foils vs. balayage for fine hair - no contest

My sister swore by foils for years but that 3 week regrowth band finally convinced me.

Bought a fancy anvil off Craigslist for $400 turned out it was a cast iron boat anchor someone painted

Well, at least you're ready if you ever need to anchor a boat in a blacksmith's shop.

Rant: That conversation with the senior guy at the supply house about compression fittings.

Haha yeah @ryan653, that "10 extra seconds per connector" part got me. I used to think the same thing, like the fitting was the culprit but nope, it's just that stupid plastic layer doing its thing. It's wild how such a tiny oversight can turn into a whole weekend of callbacks and headache. Old heads really do know their stuff, even if it's just scraping some stuff off with a pocketknife.
