Vent: My entire monthly spread got wrecked by a spilled coffee last Tuesday

Honestly, the whole search for a spill-proof pen is a trap. You're focusing on the wrong fix. The real problem is using a planner that can't handle life happening. A coffee spill is just Tuesday. What about rain, a leaky water bottle, or just the humidity in July? No pen ink stands a chance against a soaked page. The trust should be in the paper itself. I moved to a notebook with waterproof paper years ago after a similar disaster. Now I can use any pen I want, even those cheap ones, and a spill just beads up. I wipe it off and keep writing.

Just realized I've been forging my leaf springs wrong for years

My old garage's yellow bulb made everything look fifty degrees cooler than it was.

Showerthought: I've been crimping my RJ31X jacks wrong for ten years.

Okay, "crushing the wires" is the key part here. That's exactly what I was doing too, just mashing them flat with the crimper. Are you saying the better method is more about a clean fold and crimp that doesn't deform the whole plastic block? I've got a cheap tool and I bet that's half the problem. What did the different pattern look like, was it just the order of the wires or the actual physical crimp action?

Vent: A client in Tempe insisted I install over a 1/4 inch dip in the subfloor.

Classic. They always think they know better until the floor turns into a roller coaster.
