Pro tip: We're cooling welds way longer than needed on most jobs

Seen this same thing with people following outdated recipes to the letter even when ingredients have changed. They waste time and miss out on better results because they won't adapt. Sticking to old rules without seeing if they still work messes up plenty of everyday jobs.

Pro tip: When your boss hints at tweaking quality data

Adjust some numbers to make our project look better? That's always a red flag for me. It's like putting lipstick on a pig, but for reports. Once you start fudging data, it's a slippery slope to where no one trusts anything. Your move to chat with a senior colleague was smart, because saying no directly can backfire. Bosses who ask for this stuff probably know it's wrong but hope you'll play along. Honestly, if the project needs number magic to look good, maybe fix the project instead.

Dead mall solitude is the best cure for my overcrowded mind.

Dead malls are too hollow for that. Try a public library or a diner mid-afternoon. The low background noise gives your brain something to latch onto without the crowd.

Switched to a password manager after a close call with my bank account

Honestly, all this extra security stuff seems like overkill to me. Putting all your passwords in one manager is just asking for trouble if it ever gets breached. Two factor codes are a pain to deal with every time you log in, and checking your bank account every few days sounds exhausting. Banks have their own fraud protection anyway, so why not just let them handle it? Sometimes I think we make things too complicated for ourselves.

I think travel insurance is a TOTAL waste for weekend getaways, change my mind

Man, my buddy skipped insurance for a quick Vegas trip and his bag got lost with his diabetes meds inside. The airport was slow to find it, and he had to pay out of pocket for a whole new set at some overpriced pharmacy. That one hassle cost him way more than the insurance ever would have.
