My new fitness tracker bricked itself during a software update last night

I was just sitting on my couch in Charlotte when the screen went black halfway through the update. It's totally unresponsive now, even after leaving it on the charger for 3 hours. I tried the reset button combo from the manual, but nothing happened. Has anyone else had a gadget just die like this during an update, and what did you do to fix it?

Blame the user for not reading the manual first.

Hold on, that's a pretty harsh take. Manuals are often confusing or way too long. If a product is hard to use right out of the box, that's a design problem. Good design should be clear without needing a huge manual.

Ugh, that's the worst. My old smartwatch did the same thing. I had to let the battery drain completely dead, then it finally turned back on after a full charge.
