I finally looked at my old astrophoto from the 2018 Perseids and saw a huge mistake...

Sometimes those little flaws make the photo more real. It shows you were out there trying, not just making a perfect product. I'd take a shaky memory over a sterile shot any day.

Spent $40 on fancy paper for a zine and it totally backfired

Ugh, that's the worst! Did you try printing a test page on regular paper first to check the ink flow? Sometimes old printers just hate anything new.

My attempt at a 'zero waste' week ended with a raccoon in my compost bin.

Wasn't the raccoon just helping compost?

After 6 months of my cat knocking over the same plant, I realized I'd been putting the water glass I refill for him right next to it on the windowsill.

Oh wow, that makes so much sense! My cat does the same thing with any damp spot in the bathroom. It's like they have a built-in sensor for the slightest moisture. You moving that glass probably just saved that plant's life.

A client in Phoenix told me my explanations were too technical, so I started using analogies

That workbench analogy is a good start, but it can be a bit off. A workbench is cleared at the end of the day, but RAM isn't really like that. It's more like the top of your actual desk while you're working. The papers you're using right now are in RAM, easy to grab. Your filing cabinet is the storage. When you go home, you don't take the whole desk, you just put the papers away. That's the computer shutting down.
