My office chair leg snapped clean off during a Zoom call Tuesday

I was leaning back to grab a file from the shelf behind me when the right front leg gave out. Loud crack sounded like a gunshot through my mic. Everyone on the call just went silent for a second before my boss asked if I was okay. I ended up finishing the meeting sitting on the floor with my laptop on the desk. Has anyone else had cheap furniture fail at the worst possible moment?

Ugh, camping chair as a backup is a solid move. I bet folding chairs are way sturdier than those cheap mesh office chairs anyway. I ended up using my kitchen stool for a week after my last one broke, it actually fixed my posture. At least you had something on hand that worked.

Oh man, that's brutal! I had a cheap desk chair buckle on me mid-call once too, I grabbed a foldable camping chair from my garage and used that for a week until I could get a proper replacement.
