My neighbor's oak tree in the backyard dropped all its leaves in two days last week

It was fully green on Tuesday, and by Thursday evening every single leaf was on the ground. No other trees on the street did that, and we didn't have a frost or a big storm. It just decided it was done. Has anyone in the Midwest seen a tree shed that fast without an obvious cause?

What if the tree just got a false signal from the weather? I remember a few years back we had a weird warm week followed by a quick cold snap, and one maple in my yard panicked and dropped everything. The other trees didn't get the memo. Maybe your neighbor's oak just has a super sensitive internal clock and jumped the gun.

Saw a thing about sudden leaf drop from a water stress shock. Could be the roots got damaged somehow.
